European Union : Enlargement Pictures

 

1 May 2004

On the 1 May 2004, 10 new countries joined the existing 15 members of the European Union to form an enlarged European Union. This process was referred to as “ EU Enlargement”. Our suite of graphics entitled “1 May 2004” is a series of graphic metaphors depicting this historical event. Our suite of graphics entitled "1 May 2004 ” provides a range of images and metaphors on this historic process.

Accession Criteria (Serious Concerns)

In November 2003 the European Union Commission published its final report on how each of the ten new accession countries were positioned to meet the terms and conditions for accession. This report is analagous to a scorecard for each country and how far each had progressed in implementing legislative and regulatory reform consistent with EU Accession.Our suite of graphics entitled “Accession Criteria-Serious Concerns ” is a series of graphics depicting the performance of each country as outlined within the EU Commission Report.

Populations
Companies trading with and within the European Union will be interested to understand more about the 10 new countries which joined the EU on 1 May 2004.The EU Commission has published a variety of statistics on each country.Our suite of graphics entitled “10 New Member States- Populations” provides a graphic on each new country showing its name, flag and population size.

Capital Cities

Some will be unfamiliar with the capital cities of each of the 10 new countries which joined the EU on 1 May 2004.Our suite of graphics entitled “Capital Cities ” provides a graphic on each new country showing its name, flag and capital city.
